Responsible for the Faculty’s promotion and tenure reviews, faculty retention efforts, facilitating dual career positions and peer evaluation of teaching initiatives.

Responsible for the development and execution of the Faculty's strategic communication program, the delivery of targeted messaging across electronic, print and social media.

Leads the Science development and alumni engagement team in the engagement of our alumni and community donors to invest in research, students and projects in the Faculty of Science.

Leads fundraising efforts for the Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries (IOF).

This position focuses on improving the experiences for Departments in navigating complex HR processes, approvals, and policy interpretation. 

Responsible for the development and implementation of the Faculty of Science’s donor communications programs.

Supports Associate Dean, Academic and Associate Dean, Students with their schedules, appointments and events and provides general administrative support for student affairs and awards.

Leads the Skylight group: responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision in planning and delivery of faculty-wide teaching and learning initiatives.

Responsible for Science Student Academic Services including advising, student engagement programming, enriched learning, graduation, enrollment management, academic integrity, and Science Co-op.

Coordinates Human Resources activities for all employees in the Dean’s Office units and supports Faculty-wide Human Resources and Faculty Relations processes.

Responsible for overseeing the student undergraduate academic support services delivered by the Academic Advising team pertaining to academic progression and retention in the Faculty of Science.

Providing leadership and management of special teaching and learning initiatives in the Faculty of Science and the Science Centre for Teaching and Learning (Skylight), including the Carl Wieman Science Education Initiative (CWSEI). Co-supervises the Science Education Specialists.

Leads special projects for Academic portfolio: manages course teaching evaluation process and curriculum development and change processes; year 2 specializations, administers Science Outreach programs including Science 101.

Leads fundraising efforts for the Department of Computer Science, Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences (EOAS) and the Mineral Deposit Research Unit (MDRU).

Leads fundraising efforts for the UBC Botanical Garden and the Beaty Biodiversity Museum as well as the departments of Botany and Zoology.

Leads the alumni portfolio. Creates programming and executes on engagement strategy to enhance alumni connections within and to the Faculty of Science.

Manages the Faculty’s promotion and tenure processes, academic projects such as Head searches and external Departmental reviews for the Dean, Dean’s advisory committees activities; supports faculty-wide projects and initiatives.

Manages and creates content for UBC Science communications channels, alumni engagement and our research magazine FOCUS.   

Responsible for issues related to graduate and post doctoral studies, including recruitment, professional development programming, and awards.

Leads fundraising efforts for the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Michael Smith Laboratories (MSL) and life science related projects.
