
There are various off-campus services you can access to find mental health and wellbeing support in your community.
Counselling and mental health
While UBC provides a range of mental health care options, you can also find private, community-based counselling to better suit your needs. UBC students registered in the AMS/GSS Health and Dental Plan are eligible for coverage for appointments with a private mental health practitioner, such as a registered psychologist or clinical counsellor.
The Foundry BC Counselling app is available for youths aged 12 to 24. You can schedule virtual counselling appointments, find peer support, or join a youth group or workshop.
Call Here2Talk or use the Here2Talk mobile app for free, immediate, mental health counselling. This service is available 24 hours a day in various languages.
If you’re an Indigenous student, you can get immediate mental health counselling or crisis intervention by phone or chat through the Hope for Wellness helpline. This service is available 24 hours a day.
Here to Help BC is a reliable hub for mental health and substance use information in BC. It shares coping strategies, support resources, and guides to help you or someone you care about.
Located in Vancouver, the Access and Assessment Centre (AAC) helps individuals and families connect with mental health and substance use services. They provide referrals, crisis intervention, assessments, and short-term care.
Physical and mental health
Get same-day, non-emergency medical care for both physical and mental health concerns through Urgent and Primary Care Centres (UPCC). Many UPCCs are open on evenings, weekends, and holidays. They are a great alternative to emergency rooms for less serious issues.

HealthlinkBC is a non-emergency health information service available 24 hours a day. Get medical advice from a nurse, speak to a pharmacist or dietitian, or browse medically-approved resources.
