About Workday

On May 21, 2024, the Student Service Centre (SSC) is replaced by a new system called Workday for a modern educational experience. This means that information you currently access in the SSC is now found in Workday, including course schedule and registration, grades, tuition summary and payment, transcripts and confirmation of enrolment letters, your personal and contact information, and more.

Degree Navigator (DN) will also be replaced by the Academic Progress Report (APR) in Workday. DN will be available until end of August, but any 2024/25 winter session courses and data will not appear on your DN report. Newly-admitted students will not have access to DN.

Note that all activities related to the 2024 summer session will continue in the SSC. Activities related to the 2024/25 winter session and beyond will all take place in Workday.

Check out the following video featuring Dr. James Charbonneau, your Science Associate Dean, Students, for more information on this transition to Workday.

Workday guides

As you get familiar with the new system, you can visit https://workday.students.ubc.ca/ for step-by-step guides on finding information in Workday and how to complete certain tasks. The guides also include screenshots to follow, and alerts or errors you may encounter (and resolutions).

Tasks to complete before course registration begins in June

After May 21, 2024, you will receive an email with instructions for tasks you must complete in Workday before course registration begins in June. You can find registration dates for the 2024/25 Winter Session.

Using the guides linked below, you’ll need to log into Workday and make sure your personal information is accurate, including:

Some of this information can only be updated by contacting Enrolment Services. Check out the tutorials linked above to determine which changes you can make in Workday and which changes must be taken to Enrolment Services if needed.

Newly-admitted students

Existing students can log into Workday using their Campus-Wide Login (CWL). If you are a newly-admitted UBC student, you will first need to set up a CWL. Check out this guide on logging into Workday.

Support options

If you need support with completing the tasks mentioned, you can connect with your Enrolment Services Advisor who can also help you navigate course registration. Check out how to find your Enrolment Services Advisor’s contact information in Workday. If you don’t have an assigned Advisor, you can still contact Enrolment Services for support. You can also reach out to Science Advising for questions related to course planning or program requirements.
