Become a Science Peer Academic Coach

Do you have a desire to cultivate potential in others, and a passion for supporting our science community?

 

Are you interested in building your own skills and experience in areas like active listening, strengths-based conversations, and asking open ended questions?

The Science Peer Academic Coaches are currently seeking new members to start in March 2025 through April 2026.

Key Position Details

  • Members of the Science Peer Academic Coaches are Science students with their own diverse lived experiences. This experience, paired with training for the role, enables them to support their peers in areas including time management, goal setting, motivation, and study strategies for different science subjects. 
  • The time commitment is 5 - 7 hours per week, which may include team meetings, coaching conversations, and events.
  • This is a volunteer position.
  • The Science Peer Academic Coaches are a senior student leadership team, which is an official leadership program in the Faculty of Science and is supported by a staff advisor.

Undergrad Science students in good academic standing and will not be on co-op in 2025 Winter session are welcome to apply.
