Tom Beatty, a professor with the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, is one of 10 Canadian researchers who have been awarded a 2008 Canada Council for the Arts Killam Research Fellowship.
Among Canada's most distinguished research honours, the awards support scholars engaged in research of outstanding merit in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering and interdisciplinary studies.
Work at Beatty's lab focuses on the regulation of gene expression, and protein structure and function. The Fellowships are worth $70,000 a year over two years.
