Two UBC Science researchers inducted into College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists

UBC zoologist Kai Chan and computer scientist Joanna McGrenere have been elected to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.
Kai Chain is an interdisciplinary, problem-oriented sustainability scientist. He strives to understand how social-ecological systems can be transformed to be both better and wilder.
Joanna McGrenere’s research focuses on human-computer interaction, specifically user interfaces and universal usability. She is the co-founder of HCI@UBC.
The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists is Canada’s first national system of multidisciplinary recognition for the emerging generation of Canadian intellectual leadership. All Members of the College have demonstrated a high level of achievement at an early stage in their career.
