Save seahorses, save the seas
Seahorses are powerful ambassadors for ocean health. Yet these sea creatures are threatened by fishing gears, including bottom trawls and seine nets, and perish when their coastal habitats are damaged or destroyed.
Through Project Seahorse, researchers are dedicated to community and global conservation initiatives that will not only improve the resilience of the seahorse populations, but also benefit other marine life and the seas on which all life depends. These initiatives include conserving designations for the sea creatures, improving habitats, protecting areas that restrict damaging activities, regulating non-selective and targeted fisheries, and measuring to constrain trade to sustainable levels.
Your gift will help Project Seahorse continue making significant strides to ensure healthy and well-managed marine ecosystems.
How you can help
Your support of the Project Seahorse Community Fund will help researchers learn more about the conservation of seahorses and our marine ecosystems.
