Tips and Advice from Melody S

What three adjectives best describe you?
Friendly, hardworking, talkative
Where is your favourite place to study and why?
Any coffee shop! I love a louder and busier environment for studying (although it might not be the best for distractions) and it is great to be able to take a break for some delicious coffee!
What is one activity you do to maintain personal wellness?
I try to get outside as much as I can! Hiking, walking, camping, it always puts me in a better mood!
What is your best study strategy/technique?
I LOVE daily planners and checklists. I'm always forgetting things I need to do, so writing them down helps organize the chaos of my mind! A lot of the time once I write down everything I need to do, I realize that it is a lot less daunting than I originally thought!
If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?
I would make more time for non-academic activities! I feel like I focused a little too hard on ONLY school during my first year and lost sight of some of my passions. It's a difficult balance to maintain, but having non-academic interests is SO important!
