Tips and Advice from Amrita

What three adjectives best describe you?
Adaptable, empathetic, outgoing
Where is your favourite place to study and why?
My favourite place to study at UBC would have to be the Allard Hall Law Library! The beautiful natural lighting that comes in from the large windows, and the silent atmosphere makes it a great spot to spend some time studying.
What is one activity you do to maintain personal wellness?
I like to stay active and get outside! Whether it's playing field hockey or just taking my dog for a walk, I like to get some fresh air and get my body moving so I can destress and give my brain a break.
What is your best study strategy/technique?
Revising and practicing regularly is key! I try to study course material the same day I learn it so I can identify any areas of confusion so I can get help as soon as possible. I also like to keep my phone out of sight while studying to avoid any distractions.
If you could travel back in time to your first year at UBC, what is one thing you would do differently?
I would make sure to make time for non academic activities! It can be really hard to find time for yourself and the things you love during your first year as you transition to the university lifestyle; it's important to factor in some downtime too because university is so much more than just academics. Join clubs, go on adventures and most importantly, have fun!
