Stats, Physics shine in UBC Science service awards

The Faculty of Science is pleased to announce the winners of its 2009 Achievement Awards, a roster that includes eight representatives from the departments of Statistics and Physics and Astronomy.

The accolade, awarded annually, recognizes the exceptional service contributions of UBC Science researchers, staff and students to the Faculty. Fifteen winners were announced this year.

"I extend my congratulations and sincere thanks to all these remarkable individuals for their contributions to the Faculty," said Simon Peacock, Dean of Science. "I'm particularly delighted and inspired by the quality of the science students represented among this year's awardees."

The Achievement Awards will be presented at the Faculty of Science meeting on May 11.
