Tips and Advice from Giulio Laino
Which SCI Team event are you looking forward to the most and why?
The Science Case Competition! After almost two years, we finally have the opportunity to make it happen again; it's a great way for science students to have fun and work on an interdisciplinary science-related case that interests them and discuss it with their peers. It is something we science students do not have the opportunity to do very often, and I think it will give students perspective and an intellectually challenging and stimulating learning experience!
What do you passionately love to do during your spare time?
I love going to the cinema every weekend (if I can), watching TV series, and reading from many genres. Alternatively, I cook and bake (real Italian food). Oh, and of course I'm quite into sci-fi and fantasy!
If you could only give one piece of advice to any undergraduate student, what would it be?
Keep an open mind. We may or may not clearly know what we want to do and all the choices ahead of us. Know what you love doing, watch for your passions, and listen to your gut when you see that there is a subject you really enjoy. Look for those professors that are passionate about what they do and that inspire you. Identify your passions and let them carry you along the way.
You're an addition to the crayon box. What color would you be?
TARDIS blue, because who wouldn't want to travel within the time and relative dimension in space?
