The Abdul Ladha Science Student Centre is a social space to encourage both informal and organized academic, club and social activities and interactions for students enrolled in UBC Science. The building is a great place for science undergraduates to meet, to study, and to have fun. It features three conference rooms that are available for booking. The Centre is open 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday, and closed on weekends. Visit the Science Undergraduate Society website for details.
The Barber boasts a lecture theatre, meeting halls and seminar rooms that support a wide variety of learning needs and provide space for community events. Booking representatives from AMS-constituted clubs may request bookings. Students who are not members of a club must have a UBC faculty or staff member request a booking on their behalf.

Informal learning spaces are everywhere. They include any space across campus – apart from classrooms and labs – where students learn, gather, or connect. You might learn on a bench with a professor after class; studying alone in a library carrel; standing around the coffee bar in the cafeteria; gathering with friends in a group study room; or by logging onto one of 200 computers in a computer lab. The learning that happens in these spaces is increasingly recognized as an essential part of the educational experience.
