Students currently registered in UBC Science may only obtain transfer credits for courses taken at other institutions if they have obtained prior written permission from the Associate Dean of Science. This written permission is referred to as a Letter of Permission or LOP. To request an LOP fill out the form below and submit it to the Science Advising Office. The minimum processing time is five business days.
Required lower-level science courses may not be taken at another institution once students are registered at UBC. In other words, once you begin your degree at UBC, you must complete required science courses here. Transfer students who have already completed required lower-level courses at another institution prior to becoming registered UBC students may be granted transfer credits for those previously completed courses.
To take a 100-level English course elsewhere, students must have obtained an LPI score of 5 or be LPI exempt. They must also have completed three credits of 100-level ENGL.
