Science Undergraduate Society and Clubs

Science Undergraduate Society

UBC's Science Undergraduate Society represents more than 6,000 undergraduate science students at UBC. SUS supports departmental clubs, hosts seminars and social events, provides rebates for intramural teams, and puts out a variety of science publications. SUS council meetings are open to anyone.

If you're in your first year, the First Year Committee is probably the easiest way to get involved. You'll learn how SUS works and get to meet older students. You can also help plan events just for first-years. Science undergrads are automatically members of the Science Undergraduate Society. So get involved and enjoy the benefits of being a SUS member!

Science Clubs

There are many departmental clubs in UBC Science that you can join. Whatever your major or interest, there's probably a science club for you. Not only do they host social events and have intramurals teams, they are also a great resource. Some clubs have old exams available for you to practice on before those tough midterms and finals. Other clubs provide resources to help you get into certain programs and learn more about them. Check out the Science Undergraduate Society clubs page for more details.

AMS Clubs

In addition to science clubs, there are plenty of other AMS clubs for you to join (about 200, actually). AMS clubs cater to a variety of interests: aviation, dancing, fencing, guitar, improv, poker, pottery, skiing, boarding, wakeboarding, wine-tasting, and more. There are athletic, religious, philanthropic, political, hobbyist clubs, among others. If you don't find one that appeals to you, why not start your own club? The AMS will be glad to help you get started.
