Physics, Computer Science Stand Out in Killams

Researchers in the departments of Physics and Astronomy and Computer Science stood out in this year's Killam research award series—one of UBC's most prestigious internal competitions.

Fellowships are designed to assist promising faculty members who wish to devote full time to research, and are worth up to $15,000. Research prizes in the amount of $5,000 each are awarded annually to full-time faculty members in recognition of outstanding research and scholarly contributions.

Select honourees will be profiled at UBC's Celebrate Research Gala on March 12, 2009.

The awards are given annually from the Killam Endowment Fund to faculty nominated by students, colleagues and alumni. All fields of research are included.
